Hafez Awards winners celebrated in Tehran

Picks for Iran-based Hafez Awards have been granted prizes at ceremony in Tehran.

The award ceremony of the festival was launched on Wednesday, honoring veteran Iranian artists such as Jamshid Mashayekhi, Dariush Arjmand and Faramarz Gharibian.

The 17th edition of the Iranian event was already held on Saturday, announcing the names of the winners of various sections.

2017 Hafez Awards commemorated Ali Moallem, the founder of the awards who passed away of a heart attack in March.

The Wednesday ceremony was held at the Grand Hall of the Interior Ministry in the Iranian capital city of Tehran.
